Park advocates come in all shapes, sizes, ages, and abilities!
Contact elected officials to tell them about your concerns and ideas for Our Park. This is great way to bring attention to issues. We are also encouraging people to testify in front of local representatives. The New York City Council and Community Board 11 both have public hearings with time for community members to give testimony. Learn more about park advocacy and testifying from NY4P, it is recommended to use their 5 Point Plan for Park Equality to help advocate for our green spaces.
Please also check out our blog post, Urgent Need to Protect Golden Pond, on the unprecedented rainfall and how it exposed the park needs caused by climate change.
When in doubt - make a 311 report and forward information to friendsofcrocheron@gmail.com - so that we can help followup with Parks as needed.
