Stay Informed!

Welcome from Friends of Crocheron

Welcome to our newsletter, put together by Friends of Crocheron & John Golden Park. We strive to keep our park community informed about what is going on in Our Park. Of course, we also look to give you background on some of the amazing historical events that happened and hopefully entice you to come out to one of NYC Parks events in North Eastern Queens.

Founded in 2020 by Jessica Burke, who was and is determined to bring about change and excite the community around the park, she quickly found a  group of likeminded people. Through monthly cleanup events and ongoing advocacy with NYC Parks and local politicians, Friends of Crocheron continues to focus on preservation and enhancement of the park's beauty.  Management of the Park is by the New York City Department of Parks.

Friends is proud of its role in providing the ongoing volunteer support for the park, in particular renovation of the south western garden bed in the Park.  Since the group’s founding, it has invested close to 500 volunteer hours in the  Park over 26 group volunteer events. Friends is particularly proud of their participation in GetFoodNYC program, a free pandemic food distribution program with NYC Government.

The Park is the 12th largest in Queens with a wide range of amenities. We look forward to connecting with you through this monthly newsletter, to encourage more people to visit Our Park and enjoy our community.
